Austin was hired as a career FF/EMT on September 1st, 2016 and is assigned as Acting LT. of B-Platoon. Austin is a member of the New Castle County Swiftwater Team. He was awarded the Delaware State Heroic Firefighter of the year 2019 and IAFC Eastern Division Heroic Firefighter of the year 2019. Austin is also affiliated with the Minquas Fire Company and Clayton Fire Company, where he is currently the Fire Chief.
