Matt was hired to the career staff full-time in August of 2016 and is currently assigned to the C-Platoon. Prior to coming to Christiana, he was a Career FF/EMT for the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company.
In 2008, Matt joined the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department where he has previously held the positions of Lieutenant and Captain. Matt is currently serving as the Assistant Chief, and is tasked with managing the department's fire, rescue, and apparatus operator training programs.
Matt also works part-time as an instructor for the Delaware State Fire School, teaching the self contained breathing apparatus and firefighter self survival classes.
Matt holds the certifications of Pro Board Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials Operations, Fire Instructor I, Fire Instructor II, and has completed the Delaware Fire Officer I and II programs.
Matt has been awarded a unit citation as crew of Ladder 12 that rescued several people from a working building fire.
