On February 27 Ambulance 12 was alerted to a unknown medical emergency at the Cavalier Apartments. The ambulance arrived to find smoke in the building. A box alarm was transmitted. Engine 12 arrived to find smoke on two floors of the building. The source was traced to clothes on fire in a basket on the 2nd floor. The clothes were removed. The building was ventilated and searches were negative. Units operated for 40 minutes.
About one hour later Box 0987 was transmitted for a fire in the building at the AstraZeneca plant at Old Baltimore Pike. Companies arrived to a large trash compactor that was not attached to the building. Engine 9,12,7 and Ladder 12 went to work opening up the container to access the fire. After an hour the deep seated fire was located and extinguished. Units worked for two hours to wet down and overhaul.
On February 28th Box alarm 2730 was transmitted for smoke in the garage of a private dwelling in the Bay Point development. This is Volunteer Hose of Middletown's district however it is on the edge of their district. Engine 6 arrived and split layed from the nearest intersection and deployed a attack line. Engine 10 arrived and completed Engine 6's supply line. Engine 6 found a fire in the wall near the garage. Rescue 27 arrived and completed overhaul and checked for extension. Units controlled the fire and the searches were negative. Units operated for 40 minutes.
