Late November early December - Bear

On 11/25/13 a crew with Engine 12 went to Station 9 to share in Thanksgiving diner. While enroute to station 9 a MVC on I95 was alerted and Engine 12 arrived and found minor injuries. A few minutes after clearing the MVC box 0973 was sounded for a fire in a private dwelling. Engine 7 and Ladder 9 arrived to find a minor incident and reduced the assignment to 1-1. After clearing the assignment Engine 12 arrived at station 9. At 1956 hours box 0973 was sounded for a Townhouse fire. Station 9 responded with both Engine and the Ladder and Engine 12 responded as well. Units arrived to find fire showing from a two story townhouse. Attack lines were stretched and searched proved negative. Units operated for 1 hour and 30 minutes. There were no injuries.
On 11/28/13 Box 2800 was sounded for a multiple dwelling fire on Carvel Ave in the Hampton Walk Apts. Command arrived to find a fire in the apartment added Engine 12, Ladder 17 and Rescue 30 for RIT. Engine 12 responed and arrived seven minutes later. The fire was quickly extinguished by the 1st arriving companies and seachers were negative. Engine 12 operated for 20 minutes before being released by command.
On 12/4/13 Box 3210 was sounded for a trailer fire. Normally L12 is the first due truck to that assignment however Ladder 12 is out of service for two weeks. Before the arrival of Engine 32 the run was upgraded to a working fire adding Engine 12. Engine 12 arrived and assisted in extinguishment and overhaul. All searches proved negative and units were released in 45 minutes.
On 12/4/13 Box U983 was sounded for a house on fire at the University of Delaware farm complex. Deputy Chief 9 arrived with fire showing from a one story building. Engine 12 arrived behind Engine 9 and Ladder 9. Deputy Chief 9 operated in the defensive strategy and units got the fire knocked down. Engine 7 and 3 arrived and assisted with water supply and extinguishment. Both Christiana units operated for 1 hour and 30 minutes before being cleared by command.
On 12/6/13 Christiana Fire Company was dispatched to a MVC on Old Baltimore Pike at Martha Washington Blvd. Engine 12 arrived to find one injury and the person confined in the car. The door was removed and the patient was taken to Christiana Trauma center. Engine 12 cleared in 30 minutes. Engine 6 handled a fuel leak in the district while Engine 12 operated.
On 12/6/13 Christiana Fire Company with Engine 9 were alerted to a MVC on Salem Church Rd near Station 3. Engine 3 arrived to find no fire. However there were several injuries. Engine 3 called for Four additional ambulances. A total of Six ambulances were used to take the injuries to Christiana trauma center. Units operated for 40 minutes.
