Fire and Crashes - New Castle County

On Saturday April 14th Christiana Fire Company was alerted to a MVC near the Hilton Hotel on Churchmans Road. Squad 3 and Engine 12 arrived to find two injuries with one person confined. Both units removed the door and the patient was taken to Christiana Trauma center.
On Friday April 20th Christiana was alerted to a MVC overturned at Summit Bridge Road and Pulaski Hwy. ALS 26 (Logerman) arrived to find on trapped. Squad 3, Squad 6 and Engine 12 arrived and did a side wall removal. The patient was transported to Christiana Trauma center.
On Saturday April 21st Engine 12 was alerted to a car into a duplex. Engine 12 arrived to find a SUV into a home. Rescue 13 (Claymont) was called for the special Opps crew to stabilize the building. The crew operated for three hours.
On Monday April 23rd Engine 12 was alerted to a MVC on the off ramp to South College Ave from I95 South Bound. The crew was assisting Aetna with a commercial vehicle overturned with a person trapped. Units operated for two and half hours. Unfortunately the driver succumb to their injuries. Deputy Chief 8 had command.
On Monday April 23rd Box 1234 was sounded for a basement fire in Salem Woods development. Engine 3,Engine 124,Engine 126 and the District commander were responding soon after dispatch. Engine 6 also responded along with the automatic aid units. Engine 3 arrived with nothing showing from the outside. They established a water supply an stretched an attack line. The crew was met by smoke in the basement. Engine 126 arrived and took the special service assignment and Engine 124 took the 2nd engine assignment. The fire was small in nature and was quickly extinguished and searches were negative. Three residents were taken to Christiana hospital for evaluation of smoke inhalation. B12,A6 and Medic 6D transported. The assignment was scaled back to Christiana units. Units cleared in 45 minutes.
About one hour after clearing the basement fire Christiana and Rescue 8 were alerted to a MVC on I95 at Christiana Road. Engine 12 arrived to find the MVC at I95 South close to Rt 1. Upon investigating the crew found one person trapped and called for ALS. A side wall removal was performed and the patient was extricated and taken to Christiana Trauma center via A12 and Medic 2. Units cleared in 30 minutes.
