Car Fire with Exposure - Springwood Townhouse

On Aug 30th Christiana Fire Company and Engine 10 (Aetna) were alerted to a car fire with exposure to a private dwelling. Christiana units were clearing a water rescue in the Pike Creek area. Assistant Chief Lutz arrived to find fire into the dwelling and the call was upgraded. The upgrade added units from Delaware City,Middletown and Wilmington Manor.
Engine 126 arrived and got a line on the fire securing the hydrant in front of the home. Ladder 12 arrived and vented and searched the home. The fire was quickly controlled and the assignment was scaled back. The searches proved negative. Units remained on the scene to overhaul the home. Christiana Fire Company remained on the scene for one hour. There was no injuries.
