On Monday the 15th of March, Christiana Fire, & the New Castle County Special Ops Swift Water Team were dispatched for a reported child trapped in the creek just off Evergreen drive in Heather Woods development. Christiana Fire crews arrived and found a 11 year old girl clutching to a tree in moving water. Crews arrived prepared in water rescue gear and entered the water and secured a life vest to the girl while on shore crews rigged ropes and pulled the girl to safety. The girl was later transported to Christiana hospital for possible hypothermia.
