February 18th started the day with Ladder Co assist to the City of New Castle for a commercial building fire. Ladder 12 arrived as first due Truck and assisted with extinguishment and confining the fire to the original building. A 2nd alarm was sounded sending Engine 126 to the scene. E126 pumped a hydrant while crew assisted with extinguishment. Crews operated for just over 2 1/2 hrs. Two additional Engine crews were maintained at station 6 and 12 during. As crews were returning Aetna Hose of Newark were dispatched for an apartment fire. Initial crews arrived to find a fire on the 1st floor and upgrade sent Engines 12, Engine 6 & Ladder 12 to the scene. Units operated for just under 30 minutes.
