Brae's Brown Bags Come to Christiana

January 18, 2016

On Monday January 18th, the Boys and Girls Club along with Brae's Brown Bags surprised the Christiana Fire Company with cupcakes, cookies and a few brown bags. The group asked questions and explored the apparatus at both station 3 and 12. Still thinking about the brown bags? They are filled with hand warmers, water, snacks, and a list of shelters, soup kitchens and numbers for assistance. These bags were not for the fire company though, they are to give to the homeless we encounter on the streets. Believe it or not this non profit organization was founded by a 12 year old boy named Braeden. Since 2013, Braeden has handed out 4,934 (updated 1/21/16) brown bags to homeless people he encounters wherever he goes. This young exuberant boy has won numerous awards and has made a difference to more people in the community then most people will their entire life!
