On February 11th Box 71 was alerted for a fire in a multiple Dwelling in Studio Green Apartments in Newark. Engine 12 responded. Engine 7 arrived to find a fire in a ground floor apartment. The fire was quickly controlled and searches were negative. Engine 12 operated for 20 minutes. On February 11th at 0800 a MVC rollover was dispatched on old Airport Rd. Ambulance 28 arrived and requested a additional rescue. This brought Rescue Engine 12. Rescue Engine 12 arrived and assisted with the extrication. One person was transported to Christiana Trauma center with Medic 2 and A28. On February 8th a Box was transmitted for a fire in a townhouse in the Chapman Woods development. Engine and Ladder 12 responded and arrived with a smoke coming from the front door. The crews went to work and found a fire in the kitchen that had been mostly controlled by the resident with a fire extinguisher. The area was checked for extension and none was found. The assignment was held to Engine and Ladder 12. Units were in service for 30 minutes. There were no injuries. On February 13th Box 3210 was transmitted for a Townhouse on fire. The assignment brought Ladder 12 and Engine 3. As units responded in the snow storm Engine 32 arrived with fire showing. Ladder 12 arrived as the 1st Special service and split the crew into the inside and outside team. The OV made access to the rear yard in calf deep snow and found fire coming from the 1st floor and the resident of the home critically burned in the rear yard. L12 OV requested a company to the rear to assist in removing the patient. The crew worked to remove the patient while battling water streams striking them from E32 making the push to knock down the first floor fire. Ladder 12's inside team went above the fire to the second floor to conduct the primary search. Searches were completed with no findings. Engine 3 operated as the RIT company. One Christiana firefighter suffered a burn and was seen and released at Christiana trauma center. The patient that was found in the rear yard was transported in critical condition to the Trauma center. Units operated for two hours.
