Second week of April - Bear

On April 8th at 0110 reduced box alarm was transmitted for a shed on fire in the Mansion Farm development in Bear. Engine 12 and Engine 6 arrived to find a shed on fire with minor extension to a house. The home was checked for extension and the fire was extinguished. Command held Engine 124,Rescue Engine 126, Engine 6 and Engine 95 for overhaul. Units cleared in 45 minutes.
On April 10th Christiana Fire Company had two crews for many hours. At 1510 hrs the station was alerted for a SUV on fire at the Harbor Club Apts. Engine 12 and Ladder12 arrived to find the SUV involved in fire. The fire was extinguished. There were no injuries. Units cleared in 30 minutes.
On April 11th Christiana Fire Company was alerted to a motor vehicle crash at Stanton Ogletown Rd and Centurion Dr. Units arrived to find a car off the roadway with one person trapped. Rescue Engine 12 deployed the extrication tool and removed a door. Two patients were transported to Christiana Trauma center.
On April 12th Box 1217 was transmitted for a house fire on Stark Lane in Bear. Engine 126, Engine 124 and Ladder 12 arrived together to find smoke coming from the house. A water supply was established and attack lines stretched. Crew found a dryer on fire with minor extension to the 1st floor. Units remained in service for 30 minutes. There were no injuries.
On April 12th at 2312 hours Christiana Fire Company and Rescue 8 were alerted to I95 South Bound at the service area for a Vehicle crash. Engine and Ladder 12 arrived to find one car off the roadway with a person trapped. The patient was extricated and moved to the ambulance. The patient was transported by Ambulance 12 and Medic 2D to the Christiana trauma center
On April 16th Engine 28 (East Battalion duty engine for that evening) responded to a fire alarm in box area 1870. Engine 28 arrived to find smoke showing and upgraded the assignment. The address was 955 River Rd New Castle. The assignment was upgraded to a box alarm. Companies battled a stubborn fire in a commercial building. Command requested an additional Engine and Ladder bringing Engine and Ladder 12 to the Scene. Engine 12 was already on the road after clearing a fire alarm then a shooting. Shortly after the arrival of station 12 units a 2nd alarm was transmitted. Both Christiana units assisted with ventilation and providing a secondary water supply. Companies operated for three hours and thirty minutes before controlling the fire. There were no injuries.
