The Christiana Fire Company is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Full-Time Firefighter/EMT.

Position Requirements:

Non-member of the Christiana Fire Company

High School graduate or GED equivalent

Must be at least 19 years of age

Possess a valid driver’s license, and possess or obtain an Emergency Vehicle Operator certification within 90 days of hire Proficient oral and written communication skills

Healthcare provider CPR and AED certification

Completion of the defensive driving course within 30 days of the hire date

Firefighter I & II Certifications

Emergency Medical Technician- National Registry With one (1) Year of experience, (preferred Out-of-state applicants with NREMT certification are encouraged to apply and will be considered for employment contingent on Delaware reciprocity).

Position Benefits:

Hours of work: 24 hours ON / 72 hours OFF

Salary: $24.35 per hour with annual 4% merit raises for the first 10 years of employment

Highmark PPO healthcare paid 100% for the employee and 60% for dependents

Dental insurance paid 100% for the employee and 50% for the employee’s family.

Required Documents to be attached to Resume:

Certified copy of driving record from the DMV with issue date not greater than 30 days before submission of application

Criminal background check from the Delaware State Police or a receipt showing background check has been requested, which is not greater than 30 days before the date of application

Current copies of NREMT and Delaware EMT cards or out-of-state certifications

Current copies of CPR and AED health provider cards

NFPA Firefighter I/II or equivalent
