Engine 12, Tower 12 and Deputy 12 arrive as the first in units this morning to a residential fire in the 1235 Grid. This neighborhood is one of a couple in the first due that have front and rear facing units. Meaning the companies stretched and operated in the C side apartment initially although apparatus needing to be parked on the A side of the row.

They arrived to find fire showing from the first floor of a two story apartment building, C side unit. Engine 12 secured their own water source, stretched and put in service an 1.75 attack line. Tower 12’s crew initiated the primary searches of the fire unit.

The other differing factor with these units is that the Tower OV did not VES the rear of the residence because it would be an entirely different residence. Therefore, the OV VES’ed the second floor above the front door that the companies made entry at.

The Engine crew extinguished the first floor fire and the Tower completed searches of the 1st and 2nd floor. Automatic aid companies assisted in checking neighboring units and completing secondary searches on the primary unit.
