February 15th, Christiana Fire was dispatched to assist Aetna Hose (7-8-9-10) on an apartment fire. Amb 10 arrived with smoke showing and Christiana Engine & Ladder 12 arrived on scene first due and began going to work on a well advanced fire on several floors and was consuming the mansard that goes around the building. Fire had begun on the 1st floor and ran open voids and crews battled severe fire conditions on all 3 floors and multiple trench and vent holes on the roof. A 2nd & 3rd alarm were struck before the blaze was brought under control. Crews worked until 2300hrs before clearing. Chief 7-8B had the Newark Command.
