Mall Shooting

Around 6:45pm ambulance 12 was alerted for an assault patient at the Christiana Mall which soon was upgraded to a shooting. E12 requested the active shooter box to be filled. Units staged until RTF teams could be mobilized to remove the injured subjects. Whomever did not flee in the panic, sheltered in place inside the mall. 8 patients were transported to CER with a variety of injuries sustained in the shooting and fleeing stampede. Initial reports were of an isolated fight that resulted in a shooting and subsequent panic. Victims were located throughout the mall due to fleeing the gun shots. DSP is still working on the investigation at this time. Chief Cowperthwait had the Christiana Command in coordination with DSP officials and NCCEMS, Deputy Semonelle had Accountability and AC Shanahan had Staging.
