Box 1216 was transmitted for a multiple dwelling fire at the Liberty Knoll Apartments. Engine 12 arrived to find a 3 story apartment building. Upon investigation the crew found smoke the floor in a third story apartment. The crew found a small fire in the apartment. The fire was quickly extinguished and searches were negative. Engine 12, Engine 32 and Rescue Engine 28 operated for 20 minutes. On December 23rd Engine 12 was alerted as part of Interstate 95 box for a MVC at South Chapel Street. The assignment arrived to find a car off the roadway with a person trapped. Engine 12 and Engine 9 extricated one person. The patient was transported to Christiana Trauma Center. On December 23rd Box 1233 was transmitted for a Chimney Fire in Beck Woods Development. Engine and Ladder 12 arrived to find a small fire in a void space between the 1st floor and the basement. Ladder 12, Ladder 28 and Engine 12 worked to make sure the fire was completely extinguished. Units operated for 30 minutes. On December 24th Box 1217 was transmitted for smoke in the basement in centennial village. New Castle County Police arrived first and reported smoke showing. Engine 12 was out of position as they were clearing a vehicle crash on I95. Rescue 23, Engine 12, Engine 32 and Ladder 28 arrived at the same time to find smoke coming from a end of the row townhouse. Crews took their assignment by procedure. The fire was found between the basement and first floor of the home. The first water line put fire out in the basement while the second line extinguished fire on the first floor. Searches proved negative. The fire was controlled and the units on the scene operated for one hour. There were no injuries. On December 26th Box 0982 was transmitted for a odor of smoke at the Fox Wood Apartments. As units were responding the assignment was upgraded to a working fire. This added Ladder 12 as the RIT company. Engine 9 arrived and reported fire showing from the third floor. Ladder 12 arrived and was put to work checking for extension and completing throwing ground ladders. Ladder 12 operated for 2 hours completing overhaul and completing various tasks before being released by command. On December 27th Box 1002 was transmitted for a shed on fire in Four Seasons. Engine 12 responded. Chief 9 arrived to find a shed involved. Crews operated for 30 minutes extinguishing the fire. Christiana and Aetna units ran two more box alarms after this run.
