MVC's and Fires - Delaware

Christiana Fire Company was dispatched to Pulaski Hwy at Fairwinds for a MVC trapped. Units were clearing another run and responded out of position. Ambulance 12 arrived to find one person trapped. Engine 12 and Ladder 12 arrived and extricated one person. That patient was transported to Christiana Trauma center. Christiana Fire Company was alerted to Pulaski Hwy and Glasgow Drive for a MVC overturned. Originally the run was alerted to Pulaski Hwy and Glasgow Ave. As the assignment was adjusted units arrived at the location and found a pickup truck on it’s side with a person trapped. Christiana units worked for 10 minutes to remove the roof and remove the patient. In all two patients were taken to Christiana Trauma center. Units cleared in 40 minutes. On December 18th Engine and Ladder 12 were alerted to an outside fire. Units arrived to find a natural gas line on fire. A water supply was established and a protective hand line was deployed. Units remained on the scene for 40 minutes. The utility arrived and secured the gas line. On December 19th a box alarm was transmitted for a house on fire in Harmony Hills. As units responded the assignment was upgraded to people trapped. Ambulance 7 arrived first and reported fire showing. Shortly after Engine 12 arrived and had their own hydrant in front of the home. The crew stretched an attack line and got water on the fire. Engine 9 and Rescue Engine 3 arrived next with RE taking the special service assignment. Engine 9 got the backup line stretched and Rescue Engine 3 completed the searches. One person was found deceased. The fire was quickly controlled. Companies remained on the scene for 1 hour and 30 minutes assisting the Fire Marshal.
