On October 4th Christiana Fire Company was alerted to a MVC with a person trapped. As units responded there were reports of a car in the water. Engine 7 was clearing another MVC a few miles away and added onto the response. Engine 7 arrived to find one car in the water with a patient on the roof. A portable ladder was deployed to the car. The EMS crew got into the water and secured the patient to a backboard. The patient was removed with a stokes basket to the shore and transported as a trauma alert by Medic 2 and Ambulance 6 to the Christiana trauma center. Units cleared in 30 minutes.
