Two Alarm Fire - Bear

Christiana Fire Company had an active day on April 3rd handling multiple runs during the morning and afternoon hours. At 1618 Box 1216 was transmitted for a multiple dwelling fire in the Ashton Condo’s of Wilton Blvd. Engine 12,Engine 6,Engine 18, Ladder 12,Ladder 28,Rescue 23 and Chief Perillo were quickly on the road. While responding to this incident a MVC was alerted for Appleby Rd at Christiana Rd. Ambulance 6 and Engine 6 responded to this incident. Engine 12 and Ladder 12 arrived first in Wilton to find a small cooking incident. The assignment was reduced to the Engine and Ladder. As units were picking up from Wilton, Box 1221 was sounded for a fire in a townhouse in the 900 block of Rue Madora in Forest Glen. Engine 6 redirected off the MVC as there were no injuries. Deputy Chief 10 (Bowerson) arrived in Forrest Glen and reported fire showing. The fire had extended to two Townhouses. Engine 6 and Engine 9 arrived at the same time and secured a separate water supply for each unit. Each crew deployed an attack line and starting attacking the fire. Rescue 23,Ladder 28 and Engine 18 were added to the assignment off of the Wilton Box. Deputy Chief 10 then transmitted a second alarm as the fire was extending to multiple units. As the special service units arrived all searched that were conducted were negative. It took crews several minutes to get multiple lines in service and darken down the fire. Firefighters operated for 4 hours. There were no injuries. During this incident E15,E32 and Squirt 30 handled a shed on fire with extension to a private dwelling in Kings Croft in Bear. Units operated at that scene for 1 hour.
