The End of March - Christiana

As March comes to an end recruit school is in the final week. The recruits have done a good job. Last Sunday was Truck day. Topics covered were Ladders, Force Entry and searches. Final exams will be the first week of April with graduation to follow. The pictures provided this week are of Ladder 12 investigating an odor of smoke on Box 3210. The snow went away that day leaving some wet roadways. At 0300 E12 responded to a car fire and found the car involved. That morning at 0550 a box was sounded for a "fire in the house". Engine 12 arrived to find a sofa that was on fire and had been extinguished by the resident. On March 28th Rescue/Engine 12 responded to a Vehicle crash on Churchmans Road. Units arrived to find a head on type crash. EMS transported one person to Christiana trauma center. On March 29th crews remained steady with a few vehicle crashes and brush fires. Just after 5 pm box 1216 was transmitted for a fire in a multiple dwelling. Engine 12 and Ladder 12 arrived to find a small kitchen fire. The assignment was reduced to Ladder 12 for overhaul. Engine 12 and Engine 6 cleared the box alarm and responded to a vehicle crash on South College Ave. Later in the evening on the 29th Box 1212 was transmitted for smoke in the building at the Prides Court Apts. Engine 12 and Ladder 12 arrived to find smoke from cooking. The assignment was returned.
