Building Fires - Newark

On December 19th Ladder 12 and Engine 3 were alerted to the Spring Run Apartments in Kimberton for a multi residential fire. Ladder 12 arrived to find fire thru the roof with the fire spreading to an adjacent building. Due to the heavy fire conditions the crew started searching the building next to the original fire building. Engine 3 arrived and stretched a backup line and assisted with extinguishing the fire. Ladder 12’s crew searches proved negative. Both crews operated for four hours before being released by command. On December 21st at 0250 box 1217 was transmitted for an odor of smoke in a multi residential building. Engine 12 arrived to find a odor in an apartment. As the investigation continued the crews found smoke in a third floor apartment. The investigation led to the crew finding a fire in the wall. The hose line that is stretched by procedure extinguished the fire. Searches were negative. The crews operated for 1 hours. There were no injuries.
