In the early hours on October 27th Christiana Fire Company was alerted to a vehicle crash at Church Rd and Pulaski Hwy. Engine 12 arrived to find one person confined. The driver’s door was removed and the patient was packaged. A12 transported to Christiana hospital. On October 28th one 911 hang up call was received for a fire in a townhouse in Forrest Glen in Bear. A box alarm was transmitted consisting of Engine 3,6,12,15 and 10 Ladder 15 and 12. Engine 3 arrived established a water supply and found smoke showing from side C. The crew stretched their attack line to the walk out basement and found fire coming from the doorway. Engine 6 arrived and backed up the primary attack line. Rescue /Engine 12 operated as the first special service and Ladder 12 arrived and completed the searches on the upper floors. An extra two Engines and Truck were called for as the fire had entered the rear soffit from the rear doorway. The fire was contained to the basement with no extension into the neighboring townhomes. Companies operated foe one hour. There were no injuries. Units that responded : E36,E66,E126,L12,E15,L15,E74,L28,E29,E27,E1, D6,Asst 3 On October 30th Ladder 12 was transferred to cover Ladder 13 while Claymont operated at a seven story apartment building fire. Ladder 12 ran one box alarm while in the Nordel. Soon after returning from the cover up Engine 12 and Ladder 12 were alerted to a fire alarm at NKS on Churchmans Road. While both units were responding the 911 center advised they received a call reporting a pallet on fire in the building. Units arrived to find a pallet smoking that had been contained by the employee’s. The pallet was overhauled and the area was checked for extension. Units remained in service for 20 minutes.
