Building Fire - 1100 Governor Lea RD

Around 5pm on Friday evening January 27th  Engine 15 was alerted to a fire alarm at 1100 Governor Lea Road. While responding a 911 call was received reporting a fire in the building. The assignment was upgraded to a box alarm sending Engine 6 and Rescue 12. Squad 124, Engine 126 -6 and the District commander responded. Squad 124 arrived and was directed to stretch a backup line. The Squad reversed layed 600 feet of LDH with a gate and added 400 feet of 1" 3/4 to the gate making a 1000 foot attack line. The Squad put a soft sleeve on the hydrant. The crew extinguished fire in the duct work with 157 and 155. Engine 126-6 was detailed to the roof and assisted in getting the roof open and checking for extension. Crews operated for two hours. While units were committed to the fire Ladder 12 and Squad 36 handled a MVC on I95. Both units cleared in 15 minutes.
