Crash with Entrapment, Technical Rescue and a Fire - Bear, Odessa and Newark

Crews from Christiana handled several incidents on the Monday the 9th of January. After a few minor crashes and a medical assist or two; CFC was alerted for another Crash with Entrapment on Porter Road in the area of the Train Tracks. Squad 126 with a crew of 6 and Squad 66 with a crew of 4 extricated a subject from a passenger car that struck a dump truck. Shortly after clearing from the crash, Odessa and the HACSR Team was alerted for a child stuck in a pipe located on the school grounds of Brick Mill Elementay School. Squad 126 responded and fortunately 5 of the 6 Crew Members are Special Rescue Technicians. 126 arrived and set up the 4 to 1 Hauling system and operated it from a Tri-Pod. The Child was sucessfully rescued from the hole and treated and transported by ALS and BLS. Not long after returning to Quarters and placing equipment back in service, CFC was alerted for a House Fire in the Salem Woods Community. Squads 126, 36 and 66 responded and worked on a Basement Fire with the assistance from Newark and Minquas Fire Co's. Several AFA's were handled during the Fire by CFC Stand By Crews and Box Alarm was sounded later in the evening which proved to be nothing more than an unknown odor.
