2 Alarm Fire in Fox Run - Bear, De

On January 4th at 0937 Box alarm 1221 was sounding consisting of E12,E6,E10,E15,E1, Ladder 15,Ladder 9, E32 for RIT, A27 and Medic 2C and the District commander for a multi residential fire at Squirrel Drive in Fox Run Apts. Chief Reeder arrived to find fire thru the roof and three floors of fire in the rear of the building. E12 arrived first and secured a water supply. They stretched an attack line and got water on the fire. Ladder 15 was the first arriving Special service and conducted the searches, checked the rear of the building and got portable ladders thrown. As units arrived the Engines supported the fire attack. Chief Reeder transmitted a second alarm ten minutes after arrival. At the thirty minute mark the operation was switched to defensive. The roof fire was knocked down with a master stream. Units then regrouped and extinguished pockets of fire.  Companies remained in service for four hours. There was one minor injury to a firefighter.   Chief Reeder had the Christiana command.
