Working Fire in Special Needs Apartment Facility - Liberty Terrace Apartments

On December 22nd at 1745 Engine 12 responded to a fire alarm at the Liberty Terrance Apt at 100 Freedom Rd. Engine 12 arrived and found heavy smoke throughout the second floor. A Box alarm was sounded for E6,E32,E15,L12,L28 and Rescue 23. Deputy Chief 12 responded on the box as well. Engine 12 advanced an attack line to the 2nd floor. Ladder 12 inside team conducted the primary search on the fire floor while Ladder 28 inside team performed the primary search on the floor above the fire. Engine 155 was assigned as the Second Due Engine and advanced a back up line. Rescue 23 was assigned RIT. One Subject from the third floor was treated and transported to CER via Medic 2 and A-12. Crew remained on the scene for one hour. Deputy Chief Perillo had command. On Dec 19th Engine 12 was alerted to Cover Engine 11. While enroute the Engine was directed into the staging area for the 3 alarm fire in Ballymeade. The engine remained in stating for 30 minutes before being released by command. Station 12 maintained two crews while Engine 12 was in the NorDel. Engine 12 handled a MVC in Claymont before returning to Christiana.
