MVC's and Fires - New Castle County

On January 23rd at 1922 hours Christiana was alerted to assist Aetna on a townhouse fire. Engine 126 and Engine 36 arrived and were assigned to checked exposure B and D. Crews deployed a hand line in each and checked for extension. Christiana units remained on the scene for two hours before being cleared by command. On January 24th Engine 126 was clearing off a fire alarm when Aetna was alerted to a MVC with a person trapped. Engine 126 was assigned on the run. The crew arrived and assisted with a door removal. The crew cleared in 30 minutes. On January 25th at 1137 hours Christiana was alerted to a MVC with one trapped at Stanton Ogletown Rd and Old Churchmans Rd. Engine 126 arrived with EMS to find one person trapped in the car and several other injuries. The patient was extricated from the car. In total 4 patients were taken to Christiana hospital. Units cleared in about 30 minutes. On January 25th Christiana Fire Company, Engine and Ladder 15 (Delaware City Fire Company) Engine 10 (Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder) were alerted to a house fire at 2406 Porter Rd. Engine 66 arrived to find smoke showing from the 2nd floor. Engine 66 had a hydrant in front of the home. Engine 126 and 124 arrived. 126 took the special service assignment and 124 the 2nd engine duties. Units quickly controlled the fire that was in a second floor room and extended to the attic. There were no injuries. Crews remained on the scene for an hour.
