Two Building Fires and an Extrication - Christiana Delaware

The Christiana Fire Company and surrounding companies were dispatched to the Christiana Meadows Apartments on January 7th at 8:52 am. Assistant Chief Dave Lux (Duty Chief) arrived to find a fire on a balcony. Water supply was quickly established and an attack line was stretched. The fire was quickly extinguished and the assignment was reduced to two engines and a rescue. There were no injuries. In the early morning hours of January 8th at 1:27 am Ladder 12 was alerted to an automatic aid assignment in Wilmington Manor’s response area. Rescue Engine 28 arrived to find a vehicle fire that had extended to a home. Ladder 12 arrived and assisted with ventilation and overhaul. Ladder 12 cleared in about 45 minutes. On January 8th at about 12:17 pm The Christiana Fire Company was alerted to Pulaski Highway and Glasgow Avenue for a vehicle accident with a vehicle overturned. EMS 9 arrived to find two people trapped in the car. Rescue Engines 6 and 3 arrived and extricated the two patients. Both patients were transported to Christiana Hospital.
