Christiana and automatic aid companies were alerted for a fire in the 1236 box this morning. Battalion Chief 3 and Engine 12 arrived to find a split level with light smoke showing from the attic. Engine 12 secured their own water supply by a hydrant across the street, stretched a line and began working to locate the fire. Crews made entry and encountered low visibility due to smoke in the residence. Ladder 12 assumed the first due special service, conducted the primary search and located a fire in the basement utility room. The fire was controlled by the hook and can firefighter. The remainder of the box fulfilled their duties per the response policy and stood by while crews confirmed the fire was extinguished without further extension. The box was made available within an hour. #ChristianaFire
