2 Alarm Building Fire - Christiana Mall
March 11, 2025
12 units and mutual aid were alerted to the mall for a box alarm after security noticed smoke from the roof on surveillance video. Engine 6, Engine 12, Ladder 12, & Battalion 12(Dell’Aquila) arrived and checked the building while deploying a 2.5” Handline to the food court. Mutual aid arrived and truck crews located a fire in the roofing deck over the hood system from a restaurant. Command requested a second alarm as a second handline was stretched to the roof. Crews opened up from the top and bottom and the fire was quickly held to the one section of roof while extensive overhaul was completed. There were no injuries and thankfully there was no chaos as the mall was closed at the time of the fire.
