MVC Trapped - Newark

On July 11th at 0550 Christiana Fire Company was alerted to a person struck by a car at Harmony Rd and Stanton Ogletown Rd. Units arrived to find one person seriously injured. The patient was taken to Christiana Trauma center in serious condition. On July 11th at 1535 Box 0900 was sounded alerting Engine 12 for a fire in the bathroom of a house in the 1000 block of Old Country Rd. Engine 10 arrived and held themselves. During this response a MVC trapped was alerted to 945 S Chapel St in Newark. Ladder 12 was alerted as the extra rescue but was cancelled when Aetna units cleared the box assignment. Engine 124 was clearing the box assignment and responded to the MVC. Firefighters worked for 30 minutes to free the patient from the wreckage. The patient was transported to the Christiana trauma center. On July 11th at 2017 Box 2320 was sounded for a gas leak in a multiple dwelling. Ladder 12 arrived to find smoke in the building with no gas leak. The source of the smoke was traced to an appliance. Engine 23, Ladder 12 and Ladder 17 remained on the scene for 30 minutes.
