On Sunday June 10th Box 1225 was sounded alerting Engine 12, E15,E32,Ladder 28 for a fire in a private dwelling in Garwood Estates in Bear. The fire department arrived to find smoke showing from the home. Engine 12 secured a water supply and stretched an attack line thru the front door. Engine 15 arrived and stretched a backup line. Ladder 28 took first special service and completed the searches. The first alarm companies quickly controlled the fire that was located on the second floor. Ladder 17 was called in to assist with overhaul. There were no injuries. Companies operated for two hours. The Delaware State fire marshal is investigating the cause. One hour after clearing the Garwood Estates fire a reduced box was sounded for a shed fire on Red Lion Rd in Kirkwood. The assignment was E6,E15 and Rescue /Engine 12, Command 6 and Command 12. Command 6 arrived and reported fire showing from a out building. Companies arrived and placed an attack line in service. The fire was quickly controlled and units operated for one hour. There were no injuries. Christiana ran 17 runs for the day including two fires and 5 box alarms.
