House Fire - Bear

On Sunday March 11 Twenty Eight members attended Officer Development School at New Castle County Police HQ. The class was given by Traditions Training LLC. The class was sponsored by Christiana Fire Company and Claymont Fire company. During the class on Saturday Claymont was alerted for a house on fire in a development off Veale Rd. Engine 13 arrived to find fire showing. Crews worked for one hour to extinguish the blaze.

On Sunday a box alarm was transmitted for a fire in a private dwelling in Chandler woods. The assignment consisted of  Qunit 1 dash 6 (Volunteer Hose of Middletown) Engine 5 dash 12 (Pennsville NJ ) Command 12 (Deputy Chief Hagan Pennsville) E10,E15,Ladder 15, Rescue 29. Qunit 1 arrived secured a water supply and indicated a working fire. The upgrade brought E126,E66,E36 and the white wave (Chief 128,Chief 38B, Deputy 6 and Chief 33(Landover MD). Quint 1 got water on the fire and found no extension. Searches proved negative. Four people were evaluated by EMS but declined transport. Units remained on the scene for 1 hour.
