Water Rescue - Christina River

Christiana Fire Company assisted by the Minquis and Goodwill Fire Companies along with units from the NCC Special Op's Team efffectively rescued 6 trapped children from the area of the Christina River. The children were trapped in the mud and wooded area which isolated them from dry ground due the river. Marine Rescue Units from Christiana and Minquas launched from Ferguson Boat Ramp and located the Children. All were moved to dry land where one was treated and transported to CER for an ankle unjury that was sustained while being stuck in the mud.

The kids admitted to walking about 4 hours in Punch Bowl Woods from the Christiana Mall after cutting school.

Squads 126, 36 and 66 responded along with MRU's 12, 23 and 18. Assisting Special Op's Units coordinated the deployment of resources that were are all Commanded by Deputy Fire Chief 12.
