House fire, Apt fire, MVC Trapped - Bear

February 7th– At 00:29 hours the Christiana Fire Company was dispatched to an MVC at Churchmans Road and Airport Road. While enroute Rescue/Engine 3-6 was notified by EMS on scene they had one subject trapped. Rescue/Engine 3-6 extricated the patient in approximately 3 minutes. The patient was transported to Christiana Trauma Center by A-3. A second patient was transported by A-12 

February 8th – At 4:08 PM Rescue/Engine 126 was dispatched on a local alarm to the rear parking lot of the Christiana Meadows Apartments for a report of smoke billowing up, possibly a vehicle fire. Nothing was evident in the parking lot, 126 continued the investigation and after a short time was directed by residents to the 2300 building which was several buildings away from the original location. 126 found a fire on the patio of a ground floor unit involving a charcoal grill and plastic lawn furniture and toys. Extinguishment and overhaul of the area was completed and apartments were checked for extension. With no extension Command 12 Billy Anderson Jr placed the incident under control and 126 cleared within a half hour 

 

On February  9th around lunch time A box alarm was sounded for smoke coming from a house in the Fairwinds section of Bear. The assignment consisted of E12,E32,E6,E23,L28,L12 Battalion 6. E12 arrived to find a ranch style house with smoke showing. The engine secured a water supply and stretched an attack line. The crew found a fire in the home that extended to the attic. L28 and L12 arrived and completed the searches and ventilation as well as the basement check. The fire was quickly contained and the assignment was scaled back. Units remained on the scene for about one hour. There were no injuries. Thanks E23 for racking the lines.
