Several Incidents - New Castle County

On October 31st Engine 12 responded to a commercial building fire on Kirkwood Hwy and Newport Gap Pike. The engine was clearing a MVC in the north end of district. The engine arrived and was designated a rescue squad. The crew split into an inside and outside team. The outside team vented the roof while the inside team checked exposures and overhauled. The engine cleared in one hour. During the above fire Christiana Fire Company was alerted to a MVC with one trapped at Del Laws Rd and Wrangle Hill Rd. Engine 66 arrived and removed a door. One patient was transported via State Police aviation to Christiana trauma center. Rescue 15, Medic 6D and A10 also responded. On November 4th Christiana Fire Company and Engine 9 were alerted to a shed on fire in the Country Creek development. Engine 12 and the District commander arrived to find a shed well off. The assignment was reduced to Engine 12 and Rescue Engine 3 as the rescue squad. Units remained on the scene for 20 minutes. On November 4th Engine 3 responded to a MVC rollover on Bear Corbit Rd in Delaware City’s first due. Engine 3 and Rescue 15 arrived to find a vehicle overturned in water with one trapped. The door was removed and the patient was moved to EMS. Engine 3 cleared in 45 minutes. On November 4th Ladder 12 participated in the annual special operations training at Delaware State fire school New Castle campus. Ladder 12 has the equipment to function in several special opps disciplines. Three members attended on Friday.
