On Saturday August 6th Christiana Fire Company, Engine 9 (Aetna), Engine 23(Minquas) and Ladder 28 (Wilmington Manor) were alerted for a apartment fire at Glen Eagle Village. Rescue 23 was at Station 12 and responded along with Engine 12, Ladder 12 and Command 12 with 16 volunteers. Engine 12 arrived to find smoke showing. A supply line was established and an attack line was deployed. The Special service crews sheltered one person in place and search the remaining apts. The fire was controlled and the area overhauled. Engine 9 removed the sheltered person from the rear balcony. There was one injury transported to Christiana trauma center. Crews remained on the scene for one hour. Safety Officer Winnington had Glen Eagle command.
