MVC With Rollover and Entrapment - I-95 Southbound at Christiana Mall

On Saturday March 27, 2009 at 3:12 PM the Christiana (Stations 3,6,& 12) and Minquas (Station 23 Newport) Fire Companies were dispatched to I-95 southbound in the area of the Christiana Mall for an MVC with rollover and entrapment. 12-6, 6-6 and Rescue 23 responded. Rescue 23 arrived on location reporting a two vehicle accident with one vehicle on its side and a subject trapped. Rescue 23 stabilized the vehicle and along with 12-6 and A-12 began extrication. A-3 and A-23 transported the injured subjects to the Christiana Hospital. Also assisting at the scene were the New Castle County Paramedics and fire police from Christiana and Minquas. Assistant Chief 3-8B Bobby Collins had command. Earlier in the day 12-6 was returning from a vehicle fire (under control upon arrival) at the Glasgow McDonalds when the company was dispatched to an MVC in the area of Pulaski Highway and Walther Road. 6-6 arrived on location with a two vehicle accident. Because of the distance between the vehicles involved, 6-6 and 12-6 each were assigned a vehicle. The crews assisted EMS with patient care and stabilized the scene. A-3 and B-6 transported patients to the Christiana Hospital. Also assisting at the scene were the New Castle County Paramedics and the Christiana Fire Company Fire Police.
