Two Fires in 24 hours - Newark

On February 27th Engine 3 and Rescue 12 were alerted to a residential fire at 131 Haines St in Newark. Newark Police arrived first and found a two story townhome with fire showing. Christiana units arrived and assisted with overhaul and extinguishing hot spots. There were no injuries and units cleared in about a hour. In the early morning hours of February 28th Engine 45-12 (Clayton)responded to assist Aetna on a Multi residential fire at 56 Welch Tract Road. Engine 45-12 arrived first and found a working fire in the trash compactor. A supply line was laid and a attack line was stretched. Engine 34 and 36 were added to the assignment for the indications that the fire was working. The fire was extinguished and all searches proved negative. Units were on the scene for a hour.
