Busy Last 10 Days - Multiple Incidents

The last 10 days have been a busy period for the Christiana Fire Company. During the last 10 days the Fire Company has responded to 4 vehicle extrications, a small trailer fire and a tractor trailer fire. On November 14th, crews responded to Route 1 and I-95 for a crash with one subject trapped. Ladder 12 and Rescue 23 extricated one patient from a car who was transported to the Christiana Hospital. On November 15th, Rescue Engine 12 extricated one patient from a car at Fir Avenue and Pulaski Highway in the Fairwinds. On November 21st, an extrication was made on Box 2380, I-95 South Bound at the Churchman’s Marsh. On November 24th, one patient was extricated from a car overturned in the 700 block of Harmony Road in Tanglewood. On November 19th, Ladder 12 responded to a small trailer fire on South DuPont Highway. E32 quickly extinguished the fire and Ladder 12 was released within 20 minutes. On November 20th, the Christiana Fire Company and Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company were alerted to I-95 South Bound at the service area for a tractor trailer on fire. Crews arrived to find the cab on fire and a running fuel spill fire. The saddle tank of the tractor trailer was struck by a car while both vehicles were traveling on I-95. The fire was extinguished and Haz-Mat 30 was called for the fuel spill. Units responding - E126, E34, E82, E93, Haz-Mat 30, DNREC 3.
