Assistant Chief Godek Retirement

The Christiana Fire Company, the career/part time staff, the volunteer members, a variety of fire companies and the community surrounded fire station 12 this afternoon as Assistant Chief Dennis Godek, 12-8A, retired.

Assistant Chief Godek served as the Chief of Career Services at Christiana for the last ten years. Dennis has been instrumental in furthering our career services at Christiana! Dennis is a former Chief of the Elsmere Fire Company, retired Captain from the New Castle County Police Department, former President of the New Castle County Volunteer Fire Chief’s Association, former Elsmere Town Manager, former consultant for FEMA, former supervisor at Cranston Heights Fire Company, former dispatcher for Fireboard and ReCom (police) and a current Delaware State Fire School Instructor.

Dennis has committed himself to the service of others, with a total of 52 years in the fire service and 21 years as a police officer. Dennis was awarded with an honorary membership to the Christiana Fire Company, amongst other awards and gifts.
