On early Friday morning Christiana and automatic aid companies were alerted for a commercial building fire on Pulaski Highway. Chief 12 (12-8) located a building on fire in the area of Scotland Drive, different than the reported address, during his response to the incident. It was confirmed this was the original intended address and responding units adjusted their response accordingly. The building was found to be a storage facility, which consisted of 12 storage units on fire. Engine 6 arrived and completed a forward lay and Engine 12 secured their hydrant. Tower 12 arrived and began forcing entry into all of the units and hallways in between. Searches were conducted and found to be negative. The fire reached a second alarm and Christiana was assisted by several other companies in New Castle County. The fire was placed under control a few hours after dispatch.
