On September 6th Engine,Rescue Engine and Ladder 12 responded to a box alarm in the Scottfield Development in Newark. Chief Haley (138C) arrived just after the assignment was transmitted reporting fire showing with a person trapped. Engine 9 arrived. Chief Haley obtained a SCBA and was able to remove a trapped male from the home. Engine 12 arrived second due with Rescue Engine 12 arriving as the first special service. Remaining searches were negative. The fire was controlled with two attack lines. The resident was transported to Christiana Trauma Center by Ambulance 8 and ALS. Companies operated for two hours.
