On October 3rd box 0998 was transmitted for a fire in a multiple dwelling on North Street in Newark. Engine 9,8 Ladder 9 and Quint 7 arrived and reported smoke showing. Engine 12 arrived and assumed RIT. Engine 9, Engine 8, Ladder 9 and Quint 7 quickly controlled the fire. Ladder 12 assisted with overhaul. Units operated for forty minutes. There were no injuries
