MVC with Entrapment

May 5th, 2016, just after 1500hrs, Christiana Fire and New Castle County Paramedics were dispatched for a motor vehicle collision with entrapment on Brookmont drive and Route 40. Engine & Ladder 12, Deputy Chief 6 & 3 CFC Bls units quickly went responding and while enroute Deputy 6, due to additional comments on the CAD by on scene police officers, requested Special Operations team from Claymont Fire Co (13) and a Rotator crane tow truck from Betts towing. Units arrived to find a dump truck on top of a car with a subject heavily trapped. Crews began stabilizing both vehicles and extricating patient while NCC Medics treated the patient. Rescue Engine 6 arrived and supplied additional rescue tools. USAR-13 arrived and began working on plan to raise and remove part of the dump truck while the tow truck began another type plan. 29 minutes into the extrication, 8 working hydraulic tools, the patient was freed and transported by the State Police helicopter.
