On August 30th Box 1236 was sounded for a kitchen fire in the Glen Eagle Village Apartments on Sandalwood Drive, off Chapman Rd. Several units were clearing a nearby working fire resulting in a rapid response to the scene. First to arrive, Engine 12 reported smoke showing from a three story multiple dwelling. As units got a hand line in service and water on the second floor fire, three occupants were rescued from a 3rd floor balcony, stranded due to smoke in the hallways. Units operated for 1 hour. There were no injuries. The FMO reported the source of the fire as cooking materials igniting on the stove of the second floor apartment.
