Profile

Bill joined the Christiana Fire Company in March of 1971 at the age of 16 as a Student Member. In 1973 he became a Junior Member until he was made an Active Member at the age of 21 in 1976. Bill held offices on the fire line side as Assistant Engineer in 1980 and 1986 and as Truck Captain in 1987. Bill was appointed as a Deputy State Fire Marshal with the Delaware State Fire Marshals in 1989, where he served until his retirement in 2003. Bill received his Life Membership with Company in 1991. Bill transitioned to becoming active in the administration side where he served as Director in 1992 and 1993, and Vice President in 1993. Bill then became President of the Fire Company and served in that capacity in 1993 and 1994 as the third generation in his family to do so following his Grandfather, Wilbur Bush in 1930 and 1931, who was our company’s third President, and his Father, Fred Bush Sr. in 1973.
