Engine and Ladder 12 were alerted to a house fire in the Brookside Park section of Newark. The 911 call was received at about 0400. Deputy Chief 9 arrived and reported smoke showing. Engine 9, Ladder 9, Rescue Engine 12 and Ladder 12 arrived and found a fire in the kitchen. The fire was quickly controlled and all searches were negative. One patient was transported to Christiana Trauma center by Aenta Hose Hook and Ladder EMS as well as New Castle County paramedics.
