MVC With Injuries - Pole, Transformer and Wires Down - Pulaski Highway (Route 40) and Appleby Road

June 22nd – At 4:27 PM the Christiana Fire Company (Stations 3, 6 and 12) were dispatched to Pulaski Highway and Appleby Road for a motor vehicle accident reported with entrapment. 12-6 was clearing a medical assist in the area and responded along with 6-6. Rescue 23 (Minquas) was clearing an accident in Christiana’s district and also made the response. 12-6 arrived and reported a pole and transformer down and wires on a vehicle. Wires were also blocking the eastbound and westbound lanes of Pulaski Highway. Prior to 12-6’s arrival the victim self-extricated and was in the median strip. The victim was treated by Christian BLS units and new Castle County Paramedics and was transported to Christiana Hospital. The Christiana Fire Police re-routed traffic in the area for approximately two hours. Deputy Chief Rich Perillo had command.
