On Sept 2nd at 1619 hours Christiana and Mutual aid units were dispatched to a structural fire at the Cedar Wood Apartments at 758 Christiana Rd. Squad 126 was first on scene, 126 established command and investigated the building. 126's crew found a smoke condition on the third floor coming from apartment 812. 126’s crew placed an 1¾" hand line in service and eventually located a small fire behind the oven. Engine 95 arrived and established a supply line as the crew was directed to the third floor to initiate a primary search as well as assist 126’s crew with locating the seat of the fire. Ladder 17 arrived and was assigned to ladder placement and ventilation. Squad 36 and Squad 66 arrived and stretched a second line while assisting with overhaul. The fire was extinguished by 126’s crew and command placed the incident under control holding the assignment to units on scene. All units were placed back in service and available as the scene was turned over to FM21 and maintenance.
